Chief Operating Officer

Chief operating officer required for a well established, growing, independent brewery, situated on its own land in West Sussex.

The brewery’s reputation for brewing and packaging high end beers is well respected. We have three other breweries on site, and 30 staff.

The company is increasing in size with further expansion planned, and we wish to develop skills in new areas. The COO will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the company, developing the marketing and sales of our own brands of beer while helping to formulate the future strategy of the company. The heads of Production, Sales, and Administration will report to them, with oversight by the board. They will be expected to manage the cash flow of the brewery, have a knowledge of our industry, and manage staff in a complicated business while maintaining our high quality reputation. The company has followed an environmentally friendly course which must be carried forward.

Please note this is a senior post and will require evidence of experience.

Quality Control post for our brewery

The brewery requires a laboratory operative to carry out the quality control measures performed in our own laboratory and collate the results and report them to the Production manager.

As the brewery packages by sterile filling a large part of the duties requires classical microbiology. We also perform some standard physical chemistry tests, as well as testing for gluten in our beers. They would be responsible for internal cleanliness audits and ensuring our compliance is maintained for food safety.

Some microbiological experience would be an advantage as would experience in a brewery. The applicant be able to maintain a clean and orderly laboratory, and keep accurate records.

Working  hours are flexible.

Bottling Operative

To work a 46 hour week as part of a team producing high quality beers. Training will be provided; an ability to accurately record information is required. A fork lift licence is an advantage.

Bottling Supervisor

To lead a team of operators in the smooth running of our bottling line, ensuring they maintain the high standards required and accurately record production information. The supervisor will report to the Production manager. Production line experience and a fork lift licence is an advantage, training will be given.

Sales Administrator /Administration Assistant

A full time Position based at the Brewery between Billingshurst & Pulborough. Own transport essential

  • Ability to use Outlook, Excel, Word, Sage & train on Bespoke Brewery system
  • Manage emails & enquiries – external & internal
  • Input orders onto Brewery system, generate reports & delivery schedules
  • Carry out sales calls as necessary
  • Support sales staff with reports & information as required. Support Directors if required.
  • Process customer & contract orders from calls, emails & in person.
  • Process Supermarket orders using secure sites & liaise with hauliers regarding delivery
  • Maintain accurate records of stock & filing as directed
  • Assist the rest of the office team with any tasks not outlined above.

Training will be given but knowledge of Excel, Outlook & Word is essential.
